2020 DX Summer Institute

This Institute has concluded. Explore upcoming Institutes.

Now more than ever, Dance Exchange recognizes the power and potential of artmaking to help us respond and adapt to our rapidly changing world. To support the needs and possibilities of this moment, we are hosting a VIRTUAL 2020 DX Summer Institute (August 7-9, 2020).

Join movers, makers, artists, and leaders from communities near and far to explore how, in this time of challenge and uncertainty, we can build the creative capacities and connections needed to ignite inquiry and inspire change in our communities.

As part of our Organizing with Artists for Change Initiative (OAC), Dance Exchange Institutes embrace process and performance, dialogue and dancemaking, and the role of artists as changemakers. This online version of our 2020 DX Summer Institute will include live online movement classes (adapted for our home spaces) and workshops that delve into Dance Exchange creative tools and practices, as well as independent creative assignments for participants to explore on their own time.

Facilitation of the 2020 DX Summer Institute will rotate each day to include a range of voices and perspectives from the Dance Exchange network. Meet our facilitation team here.
