Dance Exchange

Fueled by generosity and curiosity, we expand who gets to dance, where dance happens, what dance is about, and why dance matters.

Dancemaking & Performance

Dance Exchange expands the ways performance and dancemaking catalyze connection, reflection, and action around socially relevant issues.

Creative Tools & Practices

Since our inception, Dance Exchange has been an innovator in our field, engaging communities in discovery through movement and dancemaking.

Community & Creative Hub

Dance Exchange has been an artistic hub of creative activity in the DC metro area for over 40 years, and our building continues to provide space for hundreds to gather, organize, teach, rehearse, and perform.

Organizing with Artists for Change

Through OAC, Dance Exchange connects, supports, and grows a local, national, and international network of socially-engaged artists.
