Title: Facilities and Operations Coordinator

Starting: Wednesday, September 1, 2021

Application deadline: August 20th 2021

Hours per week: 20. Work hours are generally weekdays between 10:00am-6:00pm, with work on weekends and evenings for special events as needed.

Place of work: Dance Exchange’s Community and Creative Hub, 7117 Maple Ave., Takoma Park, MD with opportunities for remote work.

Immediate supervisor: Manager, Dance Exchange Creative and Community Hub

Salary range: $19,000 to $21,000

Benefits: Dance Exchange offers a flexible work schedule.  Employees are able to attend Dance Exchange programming and events for free.

Position overview: The Dance Exchange seeks a part time (20 hours/week) Facilities and Operations Coordinator.  Reporting to the Manager of the Dance Exchange Creative and Community Hub, the Facilities and Operations Coordinator works with the Dance Exchange team to manage the upkeep of the Dance Exchange home building and support the many groups and individuals who rent space at the Dance Exchange Creative and Community Hub annually. The candidate will also be responsible for the processing of orders for Dance Exchange merchandise, assisting with Dance Exchange local programming and community engagement, and providing support for additional operations projects as needed.  The ideal candidate is a responsive and organized problem solver who enjoys working with people. They must possess strong judgment and the ability to manage a number of tasks simultaneously.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Creative Hub Management

  • Communicates with renters around scheduling, payments, access, and studio needs

  • Monitors online booking system and provides booking information and problem solving support for renters

  • Creates and oversees rental contracting

  • Tracks and processes weekly and monthly rental payments 

  • Oversees access to the Dance Exchange building through key card and online entry system

  • Maintains studio rental calendar and informational material about space rental availability, policy, and processes

  • Provides regular reporting to the Dance Exchange team on studio rental data and income

Building Maintenance and Organization

  • Provides building upkeep as needed for studios, lobby, bathroom and kitchen areas

  • Supervises Work/Exchange participants in accomplishing assigned building related tasks

  • Recruits new members of the building Work/Exchange and volunteer team 

Merchandise 

  • Manages inventory of Dance Exchange merchandise and publications

  • Processes, packages, and ships product orders

  • Maintains inventory and shipping supplies

  • Provides regular reporting to the Dance Exchange team on merchandising data and income

Operations Assistance 

  • Supports the Dance Exchange presence at community events 

  • Provides support for local programming n consultation with the Manager of the Dance Exchange Creative and Community Hub

  • Maintains the Dance Exchange programs, projects and operations calendars 

Other duties as assigned.
