Elli is Vice Chair of the Dance Exchange Board of Directors, where she serves on the racial equity and strategic initiatives committees. She has been on the Board since 2020 and began her relationship with Dance Exchange more than 20 years ago when she first brought her daughter to the Takoma Park Moves class. Elli has participated in the Winter and Summer Institutes and Dance On gatherings. She was a cast member in the community choreography Co | Lab in 2023 and 2025. Coming full circle, she now serves as a teaching artist helping to facilitate the Takoma Park Moves classes. As a scuba diver and ocean advocate, Elli is exploring creative work and helping to advance the Dance Exchange’s Climate Initiative as a board member representative on the Dance Exchange’s Climate Advisory Council. Elli has had an exciting career as a journalist, author, and award-winning publicist. She is a communications advisor to several ocean action groups. She also enjoys table tennis, yoga, line dancing, and 5Rhythms movement. She received a B.A. from Lawrence University and a J.D. from George Washington School of Law.
