Sam Horning

Operations Specialist

Sam Horning (he/him) is an educator, administrator, dancer, and bodyworker (LMT). He is currently in the middle of an M.Ed. degree through the University of Arizona’s Teach AZ program, where he’s studying secondary education with a focus in biology and science methods. He’s serving as an Operations Specialist for Dance Exchange, where his interests circumnavigate the utilization of technology to support the demands of artmaking at the heat of our climate crisis. He is interested in space management and resolving conflicting needs for space.

Sam is a choreographer and explores choreography as the study of unique social situations with both solvable and unsolvable problems. He explores how internal and external forces motivate movers and learners to make difficult decisions, and what comes after those decisions are made.

Sam has been inspired and provoked by the many choreographers, administrators, movers, educators, and scientists who have intersected with his path. He is thankful and humbled by the people, visible and invisible to him, who made it possible for his studies in life.
